Summer Camp Information
Band Summer Camp
Monday (24th) session one: 8am-10am for 7th and 8th grade students and drum majors (any older students that want to come and help in a leadership role or for extra help with marching technique are welcome to attend during this time)
Monday (24th) session two: 10am-12pm and will be for all percussion and flags.
Tuesday (25th), Wednesday (26th) and Thursday (27th): 8am-12pm for all band students.
We will meet in the band room for camp. Please wear shorts and t-shirts and tennis shoes for camp. You may have sandals for indoor music rehearsals, but you must have tennis shoes for outdoor marching. Please make sure you eat breakfast. Avoid eating/drinking dairy right before camp starts, as marching in the heat and dairy are not typically a great match. Make sure to bring a water bottle as well. You may also bring snacks for breaks.
Any additional information or changes will be posted on this music page of the school website. I will also send out Remind text notices closer to time.
It is important that all students attend camp, if at all possible. The majority of our preliminary work is done in these days, as our first parade is within the first couple weeks of school.
It is possible that sectional work could be called for Friday (July 28th), if needed. It would be done on a case by case basis and only if it works for studentsí schedules.
Please, make sure you have your instrument in working condition prior to summer camp! If your instrument has not had maintenance care in a while, it would be good to send it for normal upkeep.
Feel free to email if you have any questions: firstname.lastname@example.org; you may also send a remind chat with questions.
